Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
The Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to
Alice: I don't much care where.
The Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go.
Alice: …so long as I get somewhere.
The Cat: Oh, you're sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.

That's a wise Cheshire cat! Good luck with your writing!
ReplyDeleteTake care

But if you do not know where you are going, how will you know when you get there? An ending in mind helps you to drop clues and plot threads along the way. Just musing.
ReplyDeleteOld Kitty: I often find Kitty's to be particulary wise ;-D And thank you dear.
ReplyDeleteRoland: All journey's, writing or otherwise, differ with the individual. Right now I am going with the flow and finding inspiration in the organic growth of my characters and their story. I am also enjoying my work ethic right now. I will "walk long enough" to get to a end. That is important to me right now and why this quote fits me at this time.
As for the plot thread thing...that usually just works its self out for me. Like the story was already there, somewhere in the back of my head. I just had to work at it long enough to get it out.
Best of luck reaching that 50k mark! Lots of folks at LF are posting their progress. Many are doing very well. Debaser just reported 40,000 words. *whew* Bless her.
ReplyDeleteThe work ethic of nano is inspiring, don't you think? For me, the journey has an ending and pretty much everything else. I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to pull a few things together. The, editing!
ReplyDeleteI've edited poems and short stories and other small things. This, however, is massively different!
Good luck on your journey. Sounds like you're a character on an adventure you had in another life. All you need to do is keep walking and you'll find where you belong....
Cort: Excellent job folks of Legend Fire!!!!!! And thank you.
ReplyDeleteWC: I think you are going to do just fine chick. It sounds like you are on your way. Massive but doable.
And I have been called a lot worse than a character ;-D But good view of how I experince writing. Maybe there is such a thing as past lives or maybe I'm just a empath and recorder of those I have metwho can place them in stories?????? Thanks you.
