The 'Hope' To-Do List

My weekend was rained out, so not much to recap. *pouts* But I do have some things crossed off my list from last weeks Weekend Recap...

Today, I started the new pillows to replace my sadly cat and husband mauled couch pillows. Fabric fresh from JoAnne Etc and picked by Jim and I. He doesn't get a ton of say in the dec part of our loft, but he is a willing participant when asked. The fabric wasn't a bad compromise. He wanted tropical and I wanted soft blue and green in a indoor/outdoor fabric.

I did not enter a item a day on Etsy but I did enter a few new pieces and in addition tweaked the shops appearance and workings a bit. I also found a future craft show to attend in the fall and filled out my volunteer form to work at the childrens craft fair at our local Colleges Art Fest next month. It was a blast last year. www.ysu.edu/sfa . And signed up again for www.themuseonlinewritersconference.com and was accepted to join the this year.

I have made and will be finishing up some new necklaces and earrings for my shop. I'm sorta into the beads and ribbon thing right now. I love the combination of hard smooth beads and soft ribbon....
And I did add to my prologue for Ghost Mountain, which I shall share Wednesday. And presently I am tackling a more filled out Chapter One and not the brief sum up I have presently. I WILL GET THIS DONE! I WILL GET THIS DONE! I WILL GET THIS DONE! (Side note: Need to find a word counter to instal on this blog! Anyone???)

Now, this week...
  • Finish next batch of jewelry for Etsy, photo it and enter. And of course keep making more.
  • Finish pillows!
  • Finish Chapter One (Ghost Mt.) rough draft.
  • Start my writing group (Focus on Fiction) assignment and dig up a writing activity for group. I have been co-moderating said group for the last few months. Each month, I come up with a sort of lesson plan and homework.
  • Start my entry for Shelley's 'I Can't Sa It! Blog Fest. storiesintheordinary.blogspot.com/2010/05/i-cant-say-it-blog-fest.html
  • Pick out some possible photos to print and matte for Etsy shop sales.
Okay then! I hope to get the majority of this done around the life stuff. *shaking head* Silly life stuff getting in the way! That's okay. Issy the-flying-cat (pictured) will assist, at least in the jewelry department.

So how about you? Do you guys make a to-do list for the day, week, month, year? How closely do you follow it?

  1. Oh, I'm inspired to make a list of goals for my week too. And I have to say, those beads and ribbons look like they're going to turn into something really fabulous!

  2. I am so glad. The goals I share here are my 'creative goals'. I have a more long term 'personal' list and a 'general life' list (i.e. errands, home stuff, work stuff, etc.)

And I hope you are right about the fabulous part. I am fairly new to jewelry making for non-family/friends/me. It's work getting going so thank you for the kind words. ;-D

  3. That's very pretty fabric! And I love jewelry with pretty ribbons like the ones in your photo. I recently started with a daily to-do list when life got too hectic to keep track of, but I don't make one every day and I really need to. Good luck with all your goals!

  4. I find that weekly or monthly to-do's are best for me. Yearly for the really big stuff.

And thank you x2. I use to work at Jo Anne Fabrics as a second job and can not get enough of fabric. I have a steamer trunk full to prove that point!

  5. Oops. I didn't know my terror blogfest picture would appear on your lovely blog. But there are few pretty terror images. I promise tomorrow's post will have a better picture.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. Roland

  6. My dear Roland, since you do not know me, I shall forgive you of thinking I do not appreciate such lovely things as terror and horror. I find 'pretty' in so many shapes and forms. *devilish grin*

I had a few co-workers in the Mental Health field who use to liken me to a cross between Wednesday from the Adams family, Martha Stewart, MacGyver with a dash of Tomb Raider.

What I like? Smart, suspenseful fear that grows through a story and haunting imagery that lingers is my thing. I may not go all out into mutants (humans are far more scary) or overly dramatic horror, but I appreciate it. Fear/evil found hiding in wait under a pretty bow or cordially shaking your hand with a smile when it moves into your neighborhood--that's the stuff!

And I enjoy your blog. I like your writing and so far the subject matter. And thank you for taking a interest in my blog!

  7. I really like your blog! I'm a new author and have enjoyed this new experience. I find that it's the most difficult and most rewarding. I'm also a graphic designer and love having that creative outlet as well.
Thanks for your post! I will be back for more updates. :-)

  8. I agree on the writing experience. It is funny how so many folks wish to write or do so and we all still feel so lonely so often in our toils. I guess that is why we congregate in the blogisphere or ferret one another out at writing groups, to find others to share this rewarding and yet difficult journey with.

Well, good to meet another writer/artist and happy to be followed and to follow you now. Wednesdays I share a bit of my recent WIP. Feel free to share a bit of yours tomorrow too!
